Webnet is a woven product with exceptional tensile resiliency and flexibility. It is weather resistant, extremely robust and requires virtually no maintenance. The stainless steel net is suited for interior and exterior applications. Installed on railings or in stairways, it provides stability and clear guidance. On façades, it can serve as a climbing support for plants or it can set delicate accents as a dividing element in large spaces.
Webnet has been assessed according to standard specifications and subjected to many test measurements: As a permanent protection and fall-stop feature for bridges or observation platforms, it is totally UV resistant and weatherproof – in contrast to traditional knotted synthetic-fibre rope nets.
The greatest advantage, however, is its delicate structure. Especially in zoo animal enclosures or protective nets, the visual impairment due to the unavoidable barrier is minimal.

Webnet is a construction of corrosion-resistant steel ropes placed parallel to one another in pairs connected by alternating sleeves to produce a symmetrical bent pattern. The nets are fabricated application-specifically according to your customer specifications. This means there are no limits to the shape and size. The mesh orientation of Webnet can be selected as desired, yet it is typically arranged vertically or horizontally for geometric shapes.
The items in the programme are fabricated of high-quality corrosion-resistant steel of the material groups AISI 316 and AISI 316L (1.4401 and 1.4404).
Webnet is certified in Germany by the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) (Z-14.7-557).
The Webnet standard version with sleeves is a classic. It is versatile, flexible and economical, especially with small rope diameters. Webnet micro is the designation for nets with optimised sleeves and is presently used in net variants with rope diameters of 1.5 mm. The sleeves are produced using a new manufacturing process and require less material for the same strength – an advantage for you in price and aesthetics.
Webnet without sleeves is even more transparent than the version with sleeves while delivering practically identical strength values. Moreover, there are no troublesome light reflections from the sleeves.
Consequently, sleeveless Webnet is ideally suited for strong and unobtrusive protective nets as well as for animal enclosures in zoo applications because it is easier to see through it when viewing the animals.
In combination with architectural ropes and the well-known and innovative Green Solutions G1 greening programme, it can also be used as a climbing support for plants in façade greening.
Webnet is used in a wide variety of ways: Railing infill, protective nets, safety nets, barricades, fences, zoo enclosures, aviaries, suicide prevention, façade greening, artwork, ball nets, stair wells, skylight protection, fall-stop nets, bridge protection, machine protection, etc.
The wire rope nets are designed and fabricated in our factory to the exact size designated in the plans provided by the structural engineer. This greatly simplifies and accelerates the installation on the building structure because no cutting to size or adaptation is required at the job site. The result is impressive: Uniform mesh size, consistent tensioning and perfect edge connections.
The nets are put together by hand and are subsequently pressed using machinery. This ensures that the Webnet achieves a consistent quality and guaranteed strength values. The exceptionally corrosion-resistant steel for exterior applications (AISI 316/316L) is processed with care and its quality is monitored continuously. This is the only way for us to be sure that our customers receive the best steel quality.
The installation of the wire rope nets is not rocket science and requires only a minimum of tools. To do so, a rope is threaded through the outermost mesh row of the net and is wound about any structure desired, thereby tensioning the net.
Precision installation of the nets is the key to success in large structures, such as zoo enclosures. Close collaboration between the structural engineer and our installation technicians is of great importance so that the nets are integrated in the structure in the correct order and with the correct tension. This is because only the proper combination of tensioning and shape provides a safe, aesthetic and durable structure.
Using the most modern equipment, the experienced Jakob technicians deliver precision work. The installation teams can be supplemented as desired by local workers. Our specialists are happy to pass on their knowledge and experience in this manner.
